SUMMARY:APLD Webinar: HortEcology: Plantings and Practices
DESCRIPTION:HortEcology: Plantings and Practices \nPresented by Kelly Norris\, Director of Horticulture & Education\, Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKelly’s love for native plants and his experiences with wild plant communities have shaped his career in profound ways. As a so-called hort-ecologist\, Kelly strives to interpret native ecosystems into beautiful\, functional landscapes in the urban context. At the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden\, a new public horticultural facility in downtown Des Moines\, Iowa\, many of these interpretations thrive as living case studies aimed at understanding how plants interact and function within the landscape environment. Join Kelly in this webinar for an examination of planting design strategies and the ecological practices used to manage them.\n\nRegister online by August 20.\n\n1 CBLP CEU is available
