DESCRIPTION:With hundreds of thousands of square feet developed in Washington\, DC alone\, green roofs are emerging as a new form of wildlife habitat in cities. From planted sedum and wildflowers\, to volunteer seedlings and pollinators—and even families of ducks\, a variety of species are making green roofs their home. For people too\, green roofs offer a new opportunity to engage with the natural world.
