SUMMARY:Green Roof Maintenance Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Green roofs are an important tool in reducing the negative impacts of stormwater on our local streams and rivers and the Chesapeake Bay. In the Washington\, DC region\, local governments require green roofs on some new construction\, and several municipal programs encourage the implementation of green roofs\, but many roofs are not well-managed once installed. This course seeks to empower local contractors with the skills needed to provide maintenance services for green roofs. \nBy the end of this course\, participants will be able to: \nDescribe Chesapeake Bay restoration and local watershed protection efforts. \nExplain the importance of green roof maintenance for water quality goals. \nUnderstand basic green roof construction and components. \nAssess green roof condition and identify maintenance needs. \nPerform routine and non-routine green roof maintenance tasks. \nRecognize safety requirements and challenges of working on green roofs. \nDevelop and implement a maintenance plan for a green roof. \nRegister before June 18 and save $20! \n5.5 CBLP CEUs
