Hands On: Tree Planting in PA

Get outdoors and get your “hands on CEUs” planting trees with Penn State or with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay this fall.

Upland Tree Planting near Grantville, Dauphin Co- October 26  9:00 AM to noon 

       East Hanover Township is planting 300 trees throughout their park. The trees will help reduce township maintenance, beautify the park while providing habitat for wildlife, provide shade and help reduce stormwater runoff.

Tree planting in Lebanon – November 2, 9:00 AM-Noon

The Creekside Homeowner’s Association planted a native meadow several years ago along Snitz Creek. On November 2 we will help them plant trees in the meadow to further improve habitat and protect the stream. About 300 trees will be planted over several acres.

Trail Trees planting in Hershey- November 2, 9:00 AM-Noon

Friends of Derry Township Parks and Rec and Derry Township will be planting 20 large, trail trees and 30 riparian buffer seedlings next to and near a walking trail. Planting ball and burlap trees is a fun and different experience if you are accustomed to our smaller seedling plantings.

Tree planting in Middletown- November 8, 1-4 PM & November 9, 9AM- 12 PM

Londonderry Township is planting over 400 trees to continue improving the riparian buffer along Swatara Creek Road. Join us for one or both of these planting dates.
