Hands-On Field Work in Virginia Beach

The 10 year old demonstration rain garden at the Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Agricultural Research & Extension Center in Virginia Beach is undergoing renovation. Phase one was completed in the spring. Phase 2 is scheduled for October 17-19 from 8:00-12:00 each day.
Activities include: invasive species ID and removal, lowering the grade back to the original ponding depth, digging, dividing and replanting crowded plants and adding several additional species, evaluating the sink hole/drainage issue repairs made in the spring.
