In spite of the proven value of trees for reducing stormwater flows and pollutants, there remains a widespread lack of understanding, acceptance, and credibility of their use for managing stormwater. In this webinar, Chris Kaeff and Craig Frye will share lessons that Sanitation District No. 1 (SD1) in Northern Kentucky learned as it implemented a reforestation project to manage stormwater. Larry Wiseman will then introduce www.treesandstormwater.org, a new interactive guide that includes hundreds of carefully-selected case studies, methods, benefit calculators, and guidance on how adding trees can boost overall system performance, often at lower costs. The guide informs local decision makers of options and best practices for including trees in stormwater facility design regulations and policies.
