“Hands On” Rain Garden Renovation

The 10 year old demonstration rain garden at the Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Agricultural Research & Extension Center in Virginia Beach is undergoing renovation. Help is needed!

The activities include: removing a nonfunctioning riprap edge trench, lowering the grade back to the original depth, digging, dividing and replanting crowded plants, planting additional plants for erosion prevention/stabilization, and troubleshooting a reoccurring sink hole/drainage issue.  If you would like to participate in these hands on activities please RSVP to Laurie Fox via e-mail and show up with your gloves on April 11^th from 9-noon. ljfox@vt.edu 1444 Diamond Springs Rd., Virginia Beach, VA  23455.
