VIMS Living Shoreline Training (Virtual)

FreeLearn about dynamic living shoreline designs for coastal resilience. Registered participants can join a 2-hr virtual session with VIMS shoreline experts, plus have access to related materials for self-paced learning.
Live Zoom Session: featuring Scott Hardaway & Donna Milligan, VIMS Shoreline Studies Program
Topics include:
̶ Site-specific living shoreline design process under predictable (FEMA) and unpredictable water levels
̶ How to use design tools including conversions between NAVD88 & tidal benchmarks
̶ What is success for shore protection projects How to develop a monitoring plan with short-term and long-term coastal resilience considerations
This class is free of charge, but class size is limited to allow for group interaction. Registration is required. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis with preference to marine contractors, Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professionals, permit agents, environmental consultants and any other shoreline professionals directly engaged with living shoreline design and installation.
