Living Shoreline Workshop

FreeThe James River Association is hosting a Shoreline and Landscape Professionals Workshop on March 14 in Surry, VA. This workshop is for landscape professionals, marine contractors, and other professionals working on shorelines.
Hear from experts from VIMS Center for Coastal Resources Management, DCR’s Shoreline Erosion Advisory Service, and local contractors about best practices for site selection and permitting for living shorelines. Registration is free, lunch will be provided. Space is limited.

Workshop Objectives:
- Establish relationships and get feedback from local private professionals about shoreline conditions & management activity in Isle of Wight, Surry & Prince George Counties
- Raise awareness of living shoreline practices to facilitate more business opportunities
- Increase familiarity and comfort level with living shoreline concepts & terms
- Solicit engagement with future design & construction of demonstration sites
